AquaVac®-LGS is an effective and economical solution for water control in the operating room during arthroscopic surgical procedures, as well as any surgical procedure that causes fluid to spill on the operating room floor. Great for Urology too!
AquaVac®-LGS is a mat fabricated from a special compound of high- grade rubber, precision-molded to ensure full contact and water seal with the operating room floor. AquaVac®-LGS uses standard operating room suction to remove spilled saline before it can pool and spread away from the operative area. AquaVac®-LGS has been tested and shown to remove 100% of spillage during arthroscopic surgery, when used properly.
AquaVac®-LGS enhances surgeon comfort and surgical performance with improved footing on an otherwise wet operating room floor. Operating room turn-over time is greatly reduced by limiting the work required to clean and dry the surgical floor between cases. AquaVac®-LGS decreases liability for slips and personnel injury on the wet operating room floor. Rapid removal of potentially contaminated body fluids in the operating room is an additional benefit of AquaVac®-LGS.
The AquaVac®-LGS is a single suction mat. There are 3 individually shrink wrapped mats per case. This mat measures 34" x 48" x 1/4" (12 Sq. Ft.)
- Made from quality high-grade rubber - recyclable • Latex-free
- Great for Urology too!
GENERAL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
AquaVac®-LGS controls spilled saline before it can flow away from the immediate surgical area. Knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow and hip applications are simple and effective. Saline is directed from the operating site to the top surface of the AquaVac®-LGS where it is vacuumed from the operative area. Adherence to recommended procedures will maximize performance.
AquaVac®-LGS incorporates an upper surface that directs saline to the under- side of the mat, via 56 holes, allowing the surgeon to stand on a relatively dry surface. AquaVac®-LGS is designed to seal to a flat operating room floor and water is removed from the underside of the mat by standard operating room suction, Figure 1.
KNEE (Figures 2 and 3)
Simply place the AquaVac®-LGS flat on the operating room floor, “This Side Up” and attach to operating room suction with a fluid collection container. Drape patient in a sterile manner and position foot controls and surgeon/ assistant on the AquaVac®-LGS
SHOULDER (Figure 4)
Place the patient in a beach chair position with the arm at the side. Position the AquaVac®-LGS at the side of the operating table under the shoulder and connect to suction. Drape the patient sterile. The surgeon stands on the mat.
ANKLE - ELBOW - HIP
Position the AquaVac®-LGS under the surgical site where fluids falls. Attach to suction and sterile drape.
AquaVac®-LGS enables rapid removal of potentially contaminated body fluids from the operating room floor. Disposal or thorough cleaning of the AquaVac®-LGS at the end of each case and disposal at the end of the operating day is recommended to prevent the spread of viral and bacterial diseases.
Warpage of the AquaVac®-LGS and loss of the floor seal limit AquaVac®-LGS effectiveness. At this time, the AquaVac®-LGS should be replaced.
Standard Operating Room disinfectant, clorox solution, as well as by cart-washer (the mats can withstand temperatures up to 220 degrees Fahrenheit).
AquaVac®-LGS should be stored in its carton on a flat surface at room temperature (60 to 90 degrees F). A hanging rack is available from Arthro Plastics.
